ALIGARH, UTTAR PRADESH – Meet Anjali, an adolescent girl who was a student at the Orphan’s Promise School of Life (SOL) Centre. She hails from a small remote village in Aligarh where the female literacy rate is just about 19%. It is a challenge for girls in her village to get education let alone a quality education. Anjali’s father is a daily wage labourer and struggles to make ends meet. During the pandemic, Anjali’s education was affected due to lockdowns and could not attend school regularly. She could not continue learning as she did not have the means to attend online classes and because of that, she had to focus on household chores. Her hope of performing well in her studies and eventually preparing for government competitive exams became bleak.
A Timely help for an Ambitious Girl
Operation Blessing came to her rescue by providing her a new tablet to continue her online studies during the pandemic. With your generous support, through the Orphan’s Promise School of Life (SOL) Centre, Anjali received free education including stationery supplies and nutritious meals. Your timely help played a crucial role in her academic performance. She achieved outstanding results in her Grade 12 Board exams with excellent scores across all subjects. She even secured the top rank in her village and school. She is now ready to face the world and achieve her dreams.
Anjali says, “I can’t even imagine where I would be right now if it weren’t for the support provided by Operation Blessing. Without their help, I might have ended up getting married and solely focusing on household responsibilities. I am truly grateful to the SOL Centre for giving me the opportunity to continue my education”.
